Mozambique fam trips for travel agents and hosts
A Mozambique fam trip introduces travel agents to island escapes and wild landscapes. Use this guide to discuss a focused itinerary with a host, compare the experiences on offer and clarify what is included. Actual dates, availability and hosted arrangements depend on the individual programme.

Which places in Mozambique should travel professionals know?

Gorongosa National Park

How should a Mozambique fam itinerary be planned?
Choose an island-led programme or a mainland wildlife focus, with connections checked by the ground handler. An island stay and a park visit should not be treated as neighbouring stops without checking the transfer plan.
Ask for island transfer arrangements, weather alternatives and activity inclusions in writing. Check current official travel advice for the exact areas proposed before confirming participation.
What should agents confirm with the host?
Ask for a written itinerary and inclusions list before accepting. A hosted stay does not automatically include transport or every experience.
- Accommodation, meals and the activities included at each stop.
- International and domestic travel, transfers, fees and any permits.
- Personal costs, cancellation terms and the expected follow-up after the trip.
- Current entry requirements for your passport, travel advice and suitable insurance for the planned activities.
When is the best time to visit Mozambique?
The dry season from May to October is the best time for most visitors to Mozambique, avoiding the November to April rainy season, when cyclones and floods can occur.
General pattern only; it varies by region and from year to year.
| Months | Season | What agents see |
|---|---|---|
| May to August | Cool dry season | The driest, mildest months; cooler evenings in the south |
| September to October | Warm dry season | Temperatures rise but rainfall stays low before the rains |
| November to April | Rainy season | Hot and humid; cyclones and floods can occur, and low-lying roads can become impassable |

Entry
Citizens of several neighbouring countries can enter Mozambique without a visa; most other visitors need an eVisa or Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) from the official portal before travelling. Rules depend on your passport, and some northern areas, including most of Cabo Delgado province, are subject to travel warnings, so check current entry requirements and regional travel advice before booking.
Health
TravelHealthPro lists a high risk of malaria throughout Mozambique. There is no yellow fever risk in Mozambique, but a vaccination certificate is required from travellers arriving from, or transiting through, countries with yellow fever transmission risk; speak to a travel health professional well before travel.
Checked against the sources below. Rules change: confirm entry and health requirements before travel.
Questions travel agents and hosts ask
